Stephanie’s Pet Sitting is locally owned & operated out of Atlantic Beach, FL since 2018. Services offered are dog boarding, which includes pick up & drop off of your dog(s) with an additional fee. Services also include visits to clients homes for various types of pets.

Where do you live now?

Atlantic Beach, FL

How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Honestly, I had no idea I would own a pet sitting business. I had a housekeeping business for 10 years, and I was just trying to make extra money because I’m a single mother, so I started asking my clients if they needed any pet sitting on the side. That’s where it all began.

What was your mission at the outset?

Once I started pet sitting for my housekeeping clients, I instantly fell in love. I grew up with animals – lots of them. So, I’ve always had a love for animals. After watching a few pets for my clients, and for their friends, I decided to start building it into a business.

How many employees / breakdown?

I currently don’t have employees. Right before COVID hit, I was on my way to begin the hiring process, but life happens, so I’m back to rebuilding.

What service(s) do you offer?

Currently, I offer house visits to residents in, or near, the beaches area to take care of various kinds of pets, boarding for dogs at my house, & picking up/dropping off dogs that I’m boarding (If requested).

How do you advertise your business?

Mostly Facebook, which is so great! I had to put a lot of time & money into advertising when I started my housekeeping business, so having something like Facebook around is so much easier. I also have an advertisement on the rear window of my truck, which also helps.

To what do you attribute your success?

I’d have to say to my housekeeping clients, because if they wouldn’t have chosen me to pet sit for them, I never would’ve known how much I love doing it.

What do you look for in an employee?

Great work ethic! I began working at the age of 14, & I haven’t stopped. I will look for people who are honest, dedicated, loyal, motivated & obviously great with animals & people.

What made you choose your current location?

It’s where I live, raise my kids & where I love to be.

What’s your company’s goals?

To continue to serve this great community, and the rest is top secret 😉

What is unique about your business?

I take care of all kinds of animals, not just dogs or cats.

What are your responsibilities as the business owner?

To maintain a great relationship with my clients, to educate myself on technology & business management software, professionalism, loyalty, & definitely a lot of hard work.

What made you choose this type of business?

Honestly, I think it chose me.

Does your company help the community where it is located?

I’d like to think so. My clients depend on me just as much as I depend on them, so I try to go above & beyond for them when it comes to being available whenever they need me, which sometimes if very last minute.

If it’s something that you truly want, don’t give up..
