The world has lost a wonderful man today. To have Chuck Yeager help me set the gauges and explain the settings in the cockpit was a thrilling and scary moment. He was so “to the point” totally military. I had to have it right. Then after the discussion was over, he said “Marsha am I going to get a copy?” Just like a kid. I was so thrilled to have gotten to know him, working together on the painting and then at the 100 year celebration.
Chuck was a strong man with a gentle heart. He would rather have a group of kids around him or be in a cockpit than at any other event.
Rest In Peace my friend I am thrilled to have known you and will truly miss you.
