Come on in—it’s raining like crazy. Ms Gibson won’t stay in tune. I was going to broadcast from the balcony, where I could hail Romeo if he happened by. But alas, the heavens poured down and I was forced inside. Which is not that bad at all. I love it here. Already, the sun is shining. That’s life at the beach. Yes, Life’s a Beach.
This Week’s Set List:
00:48 Angel From Montgomery. John Prine.
This is a true story except the part about the cowboy not being all that good-looking. In fact, he was gorgeous!
07:15 Diamonds & Rust. Joan Baez.
Also true. Except the purchase date of the cuff links. Said cuff links would’ve been purchased forty-five years ago, instead of ten. Talk about rust…
13:22 Cold Wind. Debi Jean
This is a fantasy song that I wrote during 2020 when we were all cooped up. I imagined a tour starting from the Blue Ridge Mountains heading south and west and up the Pacific coast and cross country and back down again. I may do this tour yet, but I’d start from Jacksonville.
Okey Dokey-that’s it neighbors. Peace and Love and Live Music to you all and to all a good night.
Yours Truly,
Debi Jean

I’m a late-blooming guitar-wielding singer-songwriter who recently came down from the mountains to retire at the beach. I didn’t know I wanted to be a rock star until I was 63. At the time I was sundowning my CPA practice that I started in 1983. You do the math. Anyway, I got so hooked on music that it changed my life.
I’ve learned that I operate on both sides of my brain, both analytically & creatively and that’s pretty handy. It’s such a rush to write a song, such a cool way to express one’s self. My muse is a friendly butterfly that flits by from time to time with a song story. Gotta dig that! So I’m busting at the seams to share my JOY of music with others.
That’s why I created The Debi Jean Show. I get to have fun doing covers and originals and I chit chat a little. I have other local musicians as guests which helps plug into the amazing music scene here in Atlantic Beach. I have found a new purpose in life and it suits me to a tee. I live in a beautiful place, I get to play music—life is good.
