Inaugural Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series

Inaugural Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series

15 Fort Mose Trail St. Augustine, FL 32084
I’ve had quite a few folks as about the Jazz & Blues Series going on at Fort Mose Historic State Park so I thought I’d share the info and more images from Friday night’s show with The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra…. Stacey Sather
Here’s the info:
“The inaugural Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series is a collection of six memorable performances honoring both the rich history of American music, and the legacy of the first free Black settlement in what is now the United States.

In the course of two weekends, from February 18-26, 2022, world-class artists: The Count Basie Orchestra, Amythyst Kiah, Tank & The Bangas, Gregory Porter, and Trombone Shorty will grace our stages to celebrate these two incredible genres of music at Fort Mose Historic State Park. Proceeds from this event will support construction of an on-site fort representation and development of interpretive resources. The original fort was destroyed during the Battle of Bloody Mose in 1740.

Join us as we celebrate history, freedom, and creativity–through the incomparable joy of live music.”

Slowdive

Slowdive will tour North America this fall in support of their latest album everything is alive, with a stop at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre among just 10 Stateside headlining dates.

Released last September on Dead Oceans, everything is alive is the band’s fifth album, and the follow-up to their 2017 self-titled. Both records were met with near-universal acclaim, but the mesmerizing Slowdive, in particular, sparked the band’s resurgence—it was their first new full-length in 22 years.
