THEATRE JACKSONVILLE DEBUTS THE COMEDY SLOW FOOD
BEGINNING ON FEB. 25

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2021) – Have you ever been hangry? Theatre Jacksonville’s next offering, the delicious comedy Slow Food, brings new meaning to the term. Audiences will laugh their way through the story of a couple’s excruciating night out, complete with terrible service, at a trendy Greek restaurant in Palm Springs.

“We are pleased to present Slow Food as our second Mainstage production of Theatre Jacksonville’s 102nd consecutive season,” said Executive Director Sarah Boone. “Audiences will be captivated, wondering, ‘Do they ever get served?’ But more importantly, this clever comedic take on marriage delves into what this couple – and what we all – truly hunger for.”

Written by Wendy McLeod and directed by Joe Kemper, Slow Food will run from Friday, February 25 through Sunday, March 13. The cast includes Jas Abramowitz, Ethan Fisher, and Suzanne Friedline. Evening shows begin at 7:30, with two Sunday matinees offered on March 6 and 13 at 2 p.m. Theatre Jacksonville maintains recommended COVID safety protocols to protect cast, crew and audience members, including mask-wearing and reduced lobby time.

There are two remaining shows in the 102nd season: The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, opening April 22, andthe musical Ragtime, opening June 10. Visit www.theatrejax.com for tickets and more information.
