For Amy Duckworth, like millions of other people around the world, music simply makes life better! Unlike millions of others, Amy has found a way to make music earn her a living while enjoying all the benefits that music brings with it.

My name is Amy Duckworth. In a word, music is what fills my time. Between working for an entertainment management company called Accurate Talent Management and a love of going to as many shows as possible, music fills most of my time! Music connects people on such a pure level. No matter what else is going on in life, listening to live music calms my soul. Growing up in North Florida and having so many talented, local musicians it wasn’t hard to find a good show. There is such a special bond and sense of community in the music circle here. It’s not hard to meet new friends at every show.

Hanging with Vermillion.

This summer will be no different, I will be out supporting my favorite bands and promoting them. My current favorite is a band called Vermillion. A 3 piece rock band from Jacksonville. You must check them out! I am also planning on traveling to Virginia this summer and spending time with my daughter Katie.

The first St. Augustine Lighthouse, called the Old Spanish Watchtower, which became Florida’s first lighthouse in 1824. Maria Andreu, wife of Head Keeper Joseph Andreu, became the first female lighthouse keeper of Hispanic-American descent in Florida when her husband died in 1859.1

I absolutely love living on the First Coast. I’ve lived here all my life. From growing up riding horses to camping to boating, there was always something fun to get outside and do here. We have so many beautiful places to enjoy. St. Augustine being my favorite place to visit any chance I can get. I happen to be of Minorcan decent. I am related to Joseph and Maria Andreu who were the first lighthouse keepers at the original lighthouse in St. Augustine. I also volunteer with the Minorcan Society to help maintain the Tolomato Cemetery and make my ancestors proud.

Other hobbies would include gardening and visiting the many parks we have to choose from around here. And of course spending time with my dog Bo. Although he says it’s a little too hot right now to enjoy any outdoor activities, he prefers the air conditioning.
