Hosting a beach bonfire on Atlantic Beach is always a memorable occasion. There’s nothing quite like gathering by the fire with friends and family and enjoying the beauty of the beach.
However, due to the amount of debris people have been leaving on the beach, AB has recently increased the permit pricing and rules for beach bonfires.
Atlantic Beach bonfire season runs November 1 – February 28, with the rest of the year reserved for sea turtle nesting season. By Florida State law, no fires are permitted on any beach during nesting season.
While you used to be able to apply online, you will now need to go to the Adele Grage Cultural Center in person to get a permit.
Adele Grage is located at 716 Ocean Blvd., Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The permit will cost you a $75 fee (plus tax) plus $150 refundable deposit.
The maximum amount of people who can gather by the fire is capped at 25, and you must have everything cleaned up and vacate the beach by 10PM.
And keep those Christmas trees at home! The burning of Christmas trees and wood pallets is not allowed.
