Happy Belated Halloween my Luvlies. Last week I got to dress up and hang out with a bunch of you at the Casa Marina Hotel in Jax Beach. What a lark! This might be my favorite holiday. (I still believe in Santa, too.) At any rate it’s a good reason to celebrate, as if living beside the Atlantic Ocean isn’t already reason enough. It will be November by the time you see this. My My how time does FLY! I live here in this paradise now. Music and the Ocean sustain me. And Life is Good. I’m glad ya’ll are here and it’s really cool that you come back each week to share live music. Today me and Mr. Martin are recording our cartoon in the Castle. Trick or Treat!
This Week’s Set List:
00:25 Superstar– The Carpenters
“Long ago and oh so far away, I fell in love with you, before the second show….” An encounter with a rock star, a heavenly ghost, is the thing dreams are made of. Or nightmares, depends on your point of view. That’s why they call this Halloween. Oh ha ha ha ha ah ah ha ha. It’s hard to make print sound like wicked laughter. That was the best I could do.
04:20 Fire & Rain—James Taylor
“I’ve seen sunny days I thought would never end…lonely times…when I could not find a friend…but I always thought I’d see you again…” What can I say? I love slow melancholy songs. And turning to my guitar always lifts me up, just like magic. Ain’t Life Grande?
09:50 Puff The Magic Dragon—Peter Paul & Mary
When I first heard this song at age 5, it blew me away. I can have a dragon? Whoa. That’s cool. I’m a big grown up girl now. I still envy little Jackie Paper. Gee, now that I’m on my own I might head on over to the land of Hanah Lee and see what Puff is up to. Conjure some magic.
Well, well, well. Only time will tell but Life is looking pretty cool to me. I hope ya’ll have a wonderful day today and tomorrow. See you around town. Thanks for being here.
Peace, Love, & Live Music,
Debi Jean

I’m a late-blooming guitar-wielding singer-songwriter who recently came down from the mountains to retire at the beach. I didn’t know I wanted to be a rock star until I was 63. At the time I was sundowning my CPA practice that I started in 1983. You do the math. Anyway, I got so hooked on music that it changed my life.
I’ve learned that I operate on both sides of my brain, both analytically & creatively and that’s pretty handy. It’s such a rush to write a song, such a cool way to express one’s self. My muse is a friendly butterfly that flits by from time to time with a song story. Gotta dig that! So I’m busting at the seams to share my JOY of music with others.
That’s why I created The Debi Jean Show. I get to have fun doing covers and originals and I chit chat a little. I have other local musicians as guests which helps plug into the amazing music scene here in Atlantic Beach. I have found a new purpose in life and it suits me to a tee. I live in a beautiful place, I get to play music—life is good.
