JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla (March 31, 2025) — Deck The Chairs (DTC), a Jacksonville Beach-based non-profit organization, today announced the launch of Deck The Bins, a student art decorating contest. The contest, which launches March 31 and runs through May 16, is an opportunity for students across the First Coast to design artwork to wrap the wooden trash bins located throughout Jacksonville Beach.
The Deck The Bins contest marks a significant step in DTC’s expansion to year-long programming, building on its beloved holiday tradition to better support its mission of promoting, supporting, and advocating for student participation in the arts.
The goal of the Deck The Bins art contest, which is in collaboration with the City of Jacksonville Beach, Beaches Go Green and Waste Pro, is to enhance environmental awareness while promoting student art in public spaces. Students aged eight to 18 are encouraged to participate, with 36 winners each receiving $100 and the opportunity to have their art displayed on a wooden trash bin throughout Jacksonville Beach.
