Eddie Bounds served this community for forty-two years, virtually all of them as a police officer with the Jacksonville Beach Police Department and then with the Neptune Beach Police Department. He started his career at Jax Beach and served for over 24 years, retiring as Sgt. Bounds then went to the Duval County Schools Police Department and was a SRO (school resource officer) at Fletcher for 5 years as well as the head JV baseball coach. He then went to NBPD where he was there for 11 years total. 40 years in law enforcement!
During his time in law enforcement Eddie bounds served as detective as well as a member of the SWAT team. As a police officer Eddie served the community with pride and honor, as a local boy he just loved this community and was an advocate for everything and anything that was good!
Bounds was a devoted husband and father, and was blessed to see his son Tyler become a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office deputy. He was equally proud of his daughter Kaleigh and was devoted to wife Janice.
90 Days Of Summer is proud to honor Eddie Bounds posthumously as a community icon, a friend to everyone he knew, a dedicated First Responder and a Fletcher High School grad!!
