About the artist:

Katrina Griffith is a graphite artist and oil painter based in Jacksonville, Florida, whose work heavily explores the melancholic. Through portraiture infused with symbolism, she examines the complexities of grief, trauma, anxiety, and disconnection – from the world, one’s body, or oneself. Her work gives consideration to thoughts as possible hauntings and reflects upon the idea of the haunted self, all while contemplating the question: how do we find our place in this world when we feel as though we have lost ourselves?

“I Cannot Tell You How This Ends” promises an exploration into the evolution of Griffith’s artistic journey as she continues to develop her unique artistic voice, but, moreover, her works will be examining the uncertainty of life and our place within it amid the struggles of feeling disconnected in an increasingly lonesome society.

“I Cannot Tell You How This Ends” will be on view from November 2 – November 29, 2023, with an opening reception on Friday, November 10, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
