Tides and Tails
Join JHS for a beachside happy hour with your furry friends! Let us come together and celebrate our lifesaving mission at Tides and Tails, our beachside “yappy” hour event. Plus, this Tides and Tails event will feature a Halloween-themed Pet Costume Contest!
All funds raised from this event will go towards our Pet Help Center which serves families in our community by providing free services and resources to help them care for their pets. Our services include but are not limited to, a pet food bank, free/reduced spay and neuter, free/reduced pet vaccines, free pet behavior counseling, free re-homing assistance, and temporary boarding. Those who avail themselves of our services come from all walks of life but have one thing in common – they need help caring for their pet. Imagine losing your home in a fire, being diagnosed with cancer, escaping from domestic violence, or suddenly being unemployed. These tragedies can strike at any time and the last thing someone should have to worry about in times of crisis is whether or not they will be able to keep their beloved pet.
Each ticket includes:
Valet parking
Hors d’oeuvres
Beer and wine
A treat bar for pets provided by Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery
Chance Auction
A special spooky photo opportunity with Joan H Walker PAWtography
And more…
All ticket sales benefit the Jacksonville Humane Society and will help us continue to provide compassionate care to the many homeless dogs and cats in Jacksonville.
Tickets are limited due to space capacity.

*Pets are not required to come to this event, they’re just a bonus! While we would love for you to bring all of your pets, this event is limited to one (1) pet per person and a max of twenty (20) pets total.
HAUNTS & TREATS
Tuesday, October 31 from 6 – 8 p.m.
Our Haunts & Treats Event is a family-friendly and safe way for all to enjoy Halloween from 6 – 8 p.m. at City Hall, 800 Seminole Rd. Trunk or Treaters will collect treats from registered and decorated vehicles throughout City Hall Parking Lot. “Trunkers” are asked to decorate their vehicle’s trunk, tailgate, or hatchback and provide pre-packaged candy for the “Treaters.”
Along with the treats, “treaters” can make their way over to the Police Department turned not-so-scary Haunted House, IF THEY DARE! There will also be music photo opportunities, and local food trucks/vendors will have items available for purchase. It’s sure to be a fun event for all. For information, email recreation@coab.us or call (904) 247-5828.
