23rd Annual Jacksonville Beach Pier Dance Returns to Spread Holiday Cheer

Jacksonville Beach, FL – December 2024
A cherished Beaches holiday tradition is back! The 23rd Annual Jacksonville Beach Pier Dance, sponsored by Casa Marina and Anderson Agency Insurance, will take place on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Seawalk Pavilion stage. This year’s event, featuring the beloved BayStreet Band, invites the community to come together for a night of music, dancing, and giving back.

Admission to the event requires the donation of at least one new, unwrapped toy and one nonperishable food item, which will benefit local families in need. Toys will be distributed by The Donner Center in Atlantic Beach, and nonperishable food will support Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (B.E.A.M.), helping to brighten the holidays for Beaches area families.

A Tradition Rooted in Community

What began in 1998 as a tribute to a slice of Beaches history has flourished into a beloved holiday tradition. Over the years, the Jacksonville Beach Pier Dance has raised more than $100,000 for local charities, making a lasting impact on the Beaches community.

For more than two decades, the members of the BayStreet Band, led by event founder and Rock Solid Law founding attorney John Miller, have hosted this event to spread holiday cheer and support local families. Past events have even included performances by students from Atlantic Beach Elementary, who joined BayStreet to perform holiday classics and original songs like “Peace” and “Follow Your Gleam.”

“It’s local people having fun and doing something nice to help others,” said Miller. “At the Beaches, it’s essential to reinforce our sense of community and acknowledge our social contract, especially during the holiday season.”

This year’s event promises an unforgettable evening in conjunction with the festive Deck the Chairs display.

MillaJohn’s BlueSoul – Beaches Museum Concert Series

MillaJohn’s BlueSoul is a Jacksonville band concentrating on 60’s and 70’s style Chicago electric blues, soul, and R&B. Good for your soul!

BlueSoul is a sister project to John Miller’s BayStreet, a group with over 30 years of history.

Miller has shared billing with the likes of Kenny Loggins and Chubby Checker. Though he has performed globally, from the Bahamas to Poland, he has called Jacksonville Beach home since the mid-1980s and humbly considers BlueSoul and Baystreet to have attained “semi-local” status after decades of performing at the Beaches.
