David & Daughter, LLC was founded by communications veteran Krisita Porter Burket to honor the legacy of her late father, David L. Porter, a gifted country music songwriter whose life was tragically cut short in 1993. With 20 years of experience in public relations and storytelling, Krisita launched the brand to give her father the spotlight he never lived to see, driven by a personal mission to secure a hit song for him by the time she turns 43, the same age he was when he passed. In addition to housing David’s catalog and sharing his story with a focus on getting his songs recorded, David & Daughter has grown into a platform for broader legacy-driven storytelling. Through strategic collaborations with Nashville-based businesses, the company now helps other musicians shape and share their narratives with clarity, authenticity, and emotional impact.

Jacksonville Beach, FL — A powerful new tribute to country music history is emerging as David & Daughter, a music publishing and public relations (PR) company. Founded by communications veteran Krisita Porter Burket, the company was created to fulfill the dream of her late father, David L. Porter – a talented country music songwriter who was tragically killed in a car accident in 1993.

Porter was just 43 years old when his life was cut short, months after signing a publishing agreement with BMI for 13 original songs. One of his songs earned a royalty check following a performance on a national singing competition show in the early ’90s, but the check arrived heartbreakingly after his passing.

His only child, just nine years old at the time, has spent decades quietly holding onto his handwritten lyrics, vintage recordings, and hope-filled ambition. Now, with 20 years of experience in PR and storytelling behind her, Burket is stepping forward to give her father the spotlight he never lived to see – with a personal mission to have a hit song for him by the time she turns 43, the same age he was when he passed.

“I’ve spent my career helping others tell their stories, and now I’m telling the one that lives deepest in me,” said Burket, David & Daughter Founder & Chief Executive Officer. “David & Daughter is about giving my father a voice beyond the grave and proving that dreams don’t expire with time.”

As part of the launch, Burket recently traveled to Nashville to record professional demos that stay true to Porter’s signature 90s country sound. Sessions were held at Welcome to 1979 Studios, where musician and producer Brandon Lane Moore and Porter’s nephew, a professional bass player, joined other Nashville-based musicians to breathe life into Porter’s songs.

With David & Daughter, Burket aims to place her father’s songs into the hands of artists who can carry his spirit forward. The company is actively seeking label partnerships, artist collaborators, and press coverage to amplify his voice.

In addition to housing Porter’s catalog and sharing his story, David & Daughter has evolved into a platform for broader legacy-driven storytelling. While the mission to get Porter’s songs recorded remains central, the company now helps other musicians shape and share their own narratives with clarity, authenticity, and emotional impact.
