What’s your name and what fills your time?
Scott A. Grant. I was born in Edinburgh Scotland to American parents. My dad was a Presbyterian Minister and president of Elmira College in New York. I went to Cornell and double majored in history and economics. Then I got my Law degree from Rutgers while working on Wall Street. After years of working for companies like EF Hutton I decided to open my own business as a Fiduciary Asset Manager focused on helping everyone be able to invest in dividend earning portfolios. My mission: No one should be sold a packaged processed financial product for a commission. I also am known for my “Pop” history lectures about local events.
Anything special going on for this summer?
My company Standfast Asset Management is hosting monthly lectures on “Investment Secrets” and I also give history lectures promoting my books: “The Merchant of Death” is Dead and my most recent publication “Jax Pop History” Our daughter, Austin, just got engaged. I imagine there will be some activities related as well as some travel with my lovely wife Sharon and son Xander.
What’s one thing (funny, different, cool) that many might not know about you?
I used to be a champion chess player and now really enjoy the challenge of playing with people all over the world online.
How do you like living on the First Coast?
I chose to move my family and business to Ponte Vedra Beach in 2005. I love being by the beach because I grew up visiting my grandparents on the ocean in NJ.
Anything else that you would like to tell the community?
My family and I have enjoyed living here for the past 19 years. The Beaches is a great community. Now I have lived here longer than anywhere else.
