Sidney Cardel’s offers residential and commercial interior styling and design services, from a simple consultation to a day of “freshening up” your home, client shopping services, full-service interior design, and even exterior design and landscaping. We also offer home staging for those considering selling their home. All services are explained in further detail on our website.

Cathy has always been creative. With a double major in Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Design from Florida State University, she has worked in Interior Design for years on both residential and commercial projects and a Designer Liaison with HGTV, working on both the HGTV Dream Home and HGTV Smart Home. She loves everything to do with fashion and design!

Always knowing she wanted to open a store, in October of 2011, Cathy successfully opened a Home, Design and Gift store, “Sidney Cardel’s” (named in honor of her mother). She closed her brick-and-mortar after eight years in 2019 and now focuses on design, home staging, and anything creative, full-time.

Prior to opening her store, Cathy was a key account sales rep in the home, decorative accessory, and gift industry for 20+ years. Her knowledge of sales, customer service, product development, and design trends serve her well in her design business today.

Cathy is also a freelance artist and a member of numerous chambers and organizations. She volunteers her creative talents for numerous philanthropic charities and events throughout her beach and Jacksonville community.

A native Floridian, Cathy is a sports enthusiast and loves everything to do with design, fashion, and living at the beach. Cathy feels very blessed to have a great family support system, including her daughter, Cara!

Q&A

It's a pleasure to meet you. Tell us a little bit about your background and your journey, and what you're focused on today

In my earlier years and through college, where I majored in Fashion Merchandising and Design, I utilized my creative gifts and artistry, working in visual merchandising in the fashion and apparel industry. Later, I sold to high-end home and gift stores as a sales rep in the home, decorative accessory, and gift industries for groups based out of the Atlanta Gift and Merchandise Markets. I also sold to large retail chains, where I learned how to forecast budgeting, planning, trends, estimating future growth, product development, and more. All these career experiences served me well and led me to open my store, helped me determine what type of store I wanted…and inevitably kickstarted my interior design and staging business, which I have today.

Who do you serve and what makes you different?

I serve our local Beaches, Jacksonville community, and surrounding areas, but I travel anywhere! My attention to detail makes me different, and my artistic ability and creative brain help me greatly in my business!

What would you attribute to your success, and how can people get to know you better?

I attribute my success to ethical practices, consistency, professionalism, and simple kindness. I’ve lived in our beach community for almost 35 years, and I am most grateful for all the people who have crossed my path in business. What's the best part about living on the First Coast?

That my daughter lives right down the street, I have some of the best friends a girl could ever have…and I have the ocean a few steps away. I feel very blessed.

Anything else that you'd like to add?

I also have been hired to spearhead events, stage public events, do floral design for events, do custom paintings, or paint murals for clients. I also do holiday decorating for clients and businesses. So, I'd say, if you need pretty much anything creative, Sidney Cardel's is your source!
