What part of First Coast do you reside now and how long have you lived there?
I’ve lived in the Mandarin area since 1982.
When did you know you had an interest in music?
I don’t remember ever not singing
Did you start with any specific instrument and migrate to other instruments?
I’ve played a little piano.
Are you currently in a band (or bands)?
Yes, it’s called Skinny Legs and All! The Skinny Legs and All band offers the talents of Experienced Musicians from a variety of local bands.
We love to make music and have fun with our audiences!
Who is your favorite musician or what musician influenced you the most?
I loved musicians from Cat Stevens, Billie Holiday and Carole King to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Free. Later on I like Big Mama Thornton, Mary Chaplin Carpenter, Susan Tedeschi and Shemeka Copeland.
Are there any specific memories or highlights of your career that you would like to tell us about?!
Sang in a Music and Drama Troupe in high school and we performed at the Omni in Atlanta, Disney World and the White House.
What area bands or musicians are at the top of your list to go out to hear?
Fat Cactus, Nine Pound Hammer, The Scoff-laws.
Do you have a favorite venue that you enjoy playing locally?
Izzys, The Orioles Nest
What is the best way for musicians to network?
Are there any local venue owners/managers that you would like to rave about?!
