The Professional Artists of St. Augustine (PAStA) Fine Art Gallery, of 214 Charlotte Street, St. Augustine, will host a reception for member artist Ginny LeJeune, as the feature artist for the month of August. The reception will be on First Friday Artwalk, August 4, 2023, from 5 – 9 p.m. Ginny’s work will be featured in the front gallery. The Flajberries will be playing music in the front entry. The event is free to the public.
Art has always been an integral part of Ginny’s life. She took art and graphic art classes with the thought of becoming a graphic artist, but life interceded and she started a design company, Creative Design and Upholstery in California, where her love for interior design, furniture, and soft surrounding eventually led her into painting pictures of interiors. Influenced by the late Jeremiah Goodman, an impressionistic painter of famous interiors, Ginny began to paint interiors in oil and sell them through an antique store, and directly to her clients.
In the six years since she has made Palm Coast, Florida, her home, she has expanded her repertoire to include the exteriors of homes and resorts, landscapes of her former home in California, and most recently florals. She is currently delving into Tonalism, a style of painting in which the color range is limited so that subtle gradations of the color tones constitute the primary aesthetic and means of expressions. Her paintings in this style are most represented in landscapes.
Ginny will be on hand at the PAStA Fine Art Gallery on First Friday Artwalk, where her new impressionistic paintings will be hanging in the front gallery. The show will last through the end of August.
