Heather Blanton is a prolific artist based in Northeast Florida whose most recent “Sports” series has garnered widespread attention. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1973, she has been producing works of art in various media since childhood. Blanton made her way to painting after years of working in black-and-white photography and manipulated Polaroids. Since its inception in 2013, the “Sports” paintings have been captivating audiences around the world for how they capture the nuances of athleticism and sports fandom.

Holly Blanton is a very talented and creative visual artist. She has a love of the Sea and the elements that give her years of inspiration. Holly is a consummate professional and her art reflects her love of her surroundings.
Heather and Holly Blanton!

What’s your name and what fills your time?

Heather and Holly Blanton, are identical twins, native to Northeast Florida. Both full-time professional artists for 20 years each… We share several gallery/studio spaces in Historic Downtown St Augustine near the Ice Plant at 134 Riberia ST.

Is anything special going on for this summer?

Our gardens are our passions, and we are trying to incorporate more plants into the art business to diversify our income.

Any hobbies or interests worth telling us about?

Always making art, gardening, trying to live every day as a gift and focus on the positives even when its difficult.

What’s one thing (funny, different, cool) that many might not know about you?

We are both really shy and kinda weird and dorky!

How do you like living on the First Coast?

We love living here, we were born here in 1973, and both have left for California and NYC but came back. Holly is in Mayport and Heather is in West Augustine both very cool up-and-coming outsider communities.

Anything else that you would like to tell the community?

Try to love one another. We are all trying our best and community support is what a huge difference in the lives of its citizens.

We feel like we have a wonderful corner of the Earth here in NE Florida and it’s fun watching it grow and change. Just hope the new people coming and our long-time residents consider keeping the trees as they are invaluable to the are and the flooding problems, wildlife homes, shade, etc.

Hoping the community will keep the heart and soul of the wonderful residents and make mom-and-pop shops profitable and thriving to make a more well-rounded cultural experience living here.

At an opening held by the Beaches Museum.

Suggest a Story: FCL is built on recommendations from the community; it’s how we uncover hidden gems, so when you or someone you know deserves recognition please let us know here.
