What’s your name and what fills your time?
Kira Sikes. As you know, I always have so much going on. I rarely have spare time to do much these days as I am in this rat race we live in. Haha! BUT, I am a business owner of 2 businesses. Sandbar Realty & Investor Island. However, we are in the process of rebranding Sandbar Realty due to our expansion of services, which is exciting. My partner and I also have some goals to open our 2 other businesses by the end of this year. I am a wife, and a mom of 2. Well, 3 if you include my dog Tripp. I am also a daughter and a sister. I just turned the BIG 40, and am really hoping that this world chills for a while so that I can have some time to enjoy it after things start to become more on autopilot.
Anything special going on for this summer?
I have 3 “downtime” goals to attempt this summer. I’d like to take my family camping at Camp Wilderness and I really want to visit one of the many crystal clear blue springs Florida has to offer. And of course organizing and balancing my personal and work life are right up there!
Any hobbies or interests worth telling us about?
One of my hobbies is acrylic painting and DIY furniture refurbishing is some thing I love to do. Of my personal goals I have some pretty lofty ones, but I certainly believe anything is possible! I really want to buy 20 rental properties before I turn 50. I have 10 years left. I want to pay off my debts, get better at golf, practice my archery (I got a new set for Mother’s Day!), travel and check out the country where I was born, and get ALL eight of my herbs to sprout! So far I only have three! And my work goals include wanting to buy my first fix and flip, hire an in house on-boarding/admin assistant, find my TC replacement (current one retiring end of this year), review and select our brokerage’s next 5-8 agents who want to be a part of some of our upcoming projects which are going to hopefully help SO MANY people in our community and in this economy right now, and take my brokerage license for GA, AL & SC.
What’s one thing (funny, different, cool) that many might not know about you?
Take your pick…haha This is a video I did back in 2019.
How do you like living on the First Coast?
When the weather allows, I enjoy it when it is bearable to get outside, enjoy the beaches, soaking up the sun, playing golf etc. I also enjoy throwing outdoor BBQ pool parties. I also enjoy all of the amazing festivals we have here, and how much we support small business owners with sip and shops and pop ups. On the windy and overcast days, I love to take those days to get outside and walk our nature trails. And on those rainy days, those are also amazing because my garden, or my attempt to garden gets lots of water.
Anything else that you would like to tell the community?
FIRST, I want to say that I am so grateful that my brother has come so far in his battle with cancer. He JUST got to ring the remission bell the first part of June. BUT, because he has not been able to work for some time now, he is still in DESPERATE need of help to continue to pay for any medical bills, his monthly expenses to live on, and of course to eat. We had set a goal to help him raise enough to get him through the year, but we have REALLY fallen short. Originally it was set to $50k, but I then reduced it down to $15k, and we STILL have not been able to meet that goal. I couldn’t imagine trying to live on less than $10k in one year.
