This is my second year participating in the upcoming fundraiser, A Vision for Art, at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville, St. Mark’s Campus. Each time I drive into the school, I am flooded with sweet memories of our early days living in Avondale, and our 2nd son, Jacob, attending their Early Learning Program. This year I also had the privilege of teaching a painting project with the current kindergarten classes – a sunflower project that I finished up in my studio and will now be in the Auction, to support the school.
As a local artist and introvert, sometimes it is easy to isolate ourselves in our studio and try to stay in creative mode. But I have realized throughout the years, even decades, of the importance of connecting with the community, and other creatives, and pushing myself out of my shell. This event makes it so enjoyable to do just that. The team has created a system and process that makes it pleasant for the artists as well as the avid art collector and everyone looks forward to the event! The entire show is also online, so supporters near and far can participate, choose their favorite works and supporting the school as well as 42!! different local, Southeastern Artists!

Friday night is SOLD OUT, but there is plenty of time to check it out Sat-Monday. If you are a local artist, I encourage you to follow them and consider applying. If you are an art lover and collector of original, one-of-a-kind creations, I encourage you to come out and learn about new up-and-coming independent artists and support their work directly.
