Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Music Series–delighted to come to you each week from our neighborhood, close to the Sea. See you around!

Greetings!  I’ve seen some of you, out and about in the neighborhood this week.  That’s cool!  You popped up at the Adele Grage Cultural Center for Songwriters Night.  Now, Debi Jean has left the building in Episode 137 of Debi Jean On Air.   Still within the walls of The Castle, close to the sea, under the enchanted forest, I’m perched among the foliage of Paradise to tell you some stories in songs.  Sit a spell.  We brake for live music. Busking on line.  Yup!  See ya around!

This week’s Set List:

01:31    Devil’s Bargain—Debi Jean

A fantasy set on the Great Lakes of Michigan, some bad juju went down there but this song is entirely made up—wishful thinking.  “Me, I got my glittery soul, to hold me in until I’m ready to let go…….”

08:28    Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald—Gordon Lightfoot

This is a true story, set on Lake Superior.  Also a Michigan song—the Great Lakes are considered inland seas, and in November,  they get dangerous.  Fresh water doesn’t roll like salt water in the best of weather.

16:30    Float My Boat—Debi Jean

More fantasy, which seems to be my thing.  When you write songs, you learn things about yourself that you might not have known before.  I wrote this in 2018 when I began to write songs.  The songs just came sailing by, asking me to pick them.  So, who wouldn’t?  In the end, you gotta float your own boat. “ The sunset will be here soon enough.”

Later my Lovelies.   I appreciate you tuning in for PEACE, LOVE, and LIVE MUSIC on FirstCoast.Life –always spreading good news and beautiful photos and people and places and pretty things.

Yours Truly,

Debi Jean
