Nate & Bailey AKA Dennis & Menace
Thanks for your time guys. How old are you and where do you live on the First Coast?
Since I’m the firstborn and the alpha, I’ll go first. I’m Nate and I just turned 9 years old on April 29th. And I’m Bailey and my birthday was in December. I’m 7 years old. Our parents say we live on the Southside.
What breed are you? Do you even know? Best Guess?
We are English Toy Spaniels. Lots of people see us and confuse us with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels but our noses are pug noses and we have shorter tails.
So how did you come to the Lucas family?
I (Nate) came as a Christmas surprise for my parents’ grandson. I stayed at Mom & Dad’s house and the boy would come visit and play with me. The boy moved to Texas and since I bonded with Mom & Dad, I stayed in Florida. I (Bailey) was living in Bradenton and joined Mom, Dad and Nate because Mom said she saw my picture and knew I would be perfect for the family.
Describe your pawfect day
Nate speaking-my pawfect day starts with first breakfast, going for a car ride and then having second breakfast at Southern Grounds. Of course, that means I have to walk on the beach first because that’s what my brother likes. He’s always getting wet and sandy while I stay perfectly clean. Nate is right. My pawfect day is going to the beach, digging in the sand and finding the perfect shell to carry around. I love, love, love chasing after shells my mom throws or finding new shells in the water to carry back to Southern Grounds.
What things don’t you like?
Going to the vet is not fun even though they give us treats. Baths are not much fun either.
Are you ever naughty?
You know, there are some really good-smelling things out there that I (Nate) like to check out like cat food but mom really gets upset when I try to eat it. I just don’t get it. I (Bailey) like to help Mom when she works in the garden, I love to dig, dig, dig and to chase lizards! It’s so much fun until Mom looks at me and says “Bailey, you need a bath.”
Favorite walk?
Walking on the beach
Any little pups?
No pups at our house
What do your Pawparents do?
Take us on walks and out to breakfast.
What’s the best thing for you about living on the First Coast?
Getting to go to the beach every morning & then going to breakfast.
Anything else to tell the other dog families? Favorite charities? Favorite Veterinarians?
It’s great to be part of a pack with humans to love you. No More Homeless Pets has really helped with the cats in our neighborhood. Do you like going to the doctor? We don’t.
