SKYE is a Beagilier which is a Beagle / King Charles Cavalier mix. The breed originated in Australia, and you can find a few breeders throughout the States. A Beagilier is a wonderful dog mixing the best of two amazing and well-loved breeds.
Karen Demuth, the owner likes to say that the King Charles “softens the beagle’s tendency to howl and run-after their nose … And the Beagle softens the health issues of the King Charles.” Although this is strictly opinion, Karen is delighted with Skye who just turned two years old in June!!!
You can see Skye enjoying the beach, walking through the streets of Atlantic Beach- she is a friend to everyone she meets and although she loves other dogs and humans…her true passion is chasing balls!! Karen is convinced that Skye smells “round” and seems to find balls in the most unusual places!!
Skye was born near Franklin Tennessee and is an F1 Beagilier, born to a Beagle mom and a King Charles dad. According to Karen, for this breed, it is important to look for a first-generation (F1) Beagilier as mixing a Beagilier with a King Charles Cavalier can result in health issues.
Skye took her first plane ride from Nashville to Jax when she was 12 weeks old and stole Karen’s heart from day 1!!
Skye’s perfect day has Karen’s sole attention, playing ball for hours, walking on the beach for a good part of the day, playing with other dogs and children and incorporating travel!!! Although this does not happen often, there have been a few days where Skye has all of her favorite things to do included in one day!!
Skye is mischievous and loves to steal her human brother, Dante’s toys, musical instruments and clothes. She is incorrigible with the household cats, Florence and Buddha, often engaging in a game of tag!!
Skye’s favorite thing about Atlantic Beach is the numerous dogs that she meets on her walks on the beach or down Beach Avenue, the amazing weather and the balls that she seems to find randomly throughout her day!!
