Story Tellers: Beaches Women Mayors
January 30, 11:00 a.m.

Beaches Museum will host “Story Tellers: Beaches Women Mayors” on Saturday, January 30, at 11:00 a.m. The three current beaches mayors, Elaine Brown, Chris Hoffman and Ellen Glasser and past mayors Suzanne Shaughnessy, Harriet Pruette and Carolyn Woods will discuss their service to the community and the stories behind their motivation to run for office. The mayors will share what it takes to not only survive, but thrive as a female leader at the Beach.

The event complements the Museum’s latest history exhibit, Breaking Ground: Beyond Bathing Beauties. The exhibit explores the popular image of beach women as bathing beauties which only hints at the diverse lives and dynamic roles that women played in beaches history.

In person attendance is SOLD OUT but the event will be available virtually through Zoom.

This event is free to Museum members with a suggested $5 donation for non-members. Reservations are required. To reserve tickets please call 904-241-5657 or register HERE.
